What should I bring to my eye exam appointment?

Please bring your current glasses or contact lenses, a list of any medications you are taking, your vision insurance card (if applicable), and any previous eye health records if you have them.

How often should I have an eye exam?

It is recommended that adults have a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years, and more frequently if you have certain risk factors or eye conditions. Children should have their first eye exam at around six months of age, and then regularly as recommended by the optometrist.

How long does an eye exam typically take?

A comprehensive eye exam usually takes around 30 to 60 minutes, although it can vary based on individual needs and the complexity of the exam.

What's the difference between an Optometrist and an Ophthalmologist?

An Optometrist is a primary eye care provider who can conduct eye exams, prescribe glasses and contact lenses, diagnose and treat common eye conditions, and provide pre- and post-operative care for eye surgeries. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors who specialize in eye and vision care, including surgery.

Can I get contact lenses if I have astigmatism or need bifocals?

Yes, modern contact lens options are available for individuals with astigmatism, presbyopia (bifocals), and various other vision conditions. Your optometrist can help determine the best type of contact lenses for your specific needs.

Do you accept vision insurance?

What should I do in case of an eye emergency?

If you experience sudden vision changes, eye injuries, or other eye emergencies, please seek immediate medical attention or contact our office for guidance. Do not hesitate to call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room if necessary.

How do I care for my glasses and contact lenses?

We provide instructions for proper care and maintenance of your glasses and contact lenses during your appointment. It's essential to follow these guidelines to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your eyewear.
